We received support in the development of a photoporation device, a system for cell therapy production. Verhaert, the ESA technology transfer broker, supported UGhent in the transfer process of the space technology developed in the context of the AMME project, wherein a compact dedicated confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) has been developed for 3D fluorescence imaging of biological samples. Combining our laser based transfection technology with this imaging technology originally developed for space enables automated delivery of large molecules into single cells in complex environments.
