Technology need
Summary of the technological need
Wanted: a small, highly performant, cheap and quiet air compressor for the purpose of dispensing drinks.
Background
To develop the newest beer dispenser appliance, beer needs to be pressurized via an air compressor. This air compressor needs to have it all: be small, be highly performant for its size, and be relatively silent and be cheap. The performance needed (5 NL/min at 1.2 bar)
overpressure) is rare, especially for a small and cheap pump. We found one pump, but it is noisy. How do we make it smaller?
A global beer manufacturer is looking to develop a new beer dispenser appliance pressured via compressed air. In the current development process a different small air compressor (5NL/min airflow @1.2 bar_g (or 2.2 bar_a) is required due to the disadvantages of the current solution.
Alternatively solutions can be found in noise insulation and noise cancellation.
Verhaert has been developing different beer dispensers for this global beer manufacturer and is now looking into the next generation innovation.
