A systematic foreign object scanning detection technology in food that detects more than just metal particles for use in food production and processing lines.
Background
Description: foreign objects can intrude packaging content at every stage of the production stage.
How can we detect the presence of such foreign bodies, if possible at the latest stages of the production process, ie. when the materials are already in their packaging. the challenge here is that some packaging might have a depth of 30 cm and that surface detection is not sufficient.
Another challenge is that the content can be diverse : powder, water, paste, fat, ...
Current practice: Detection of metal is done and mandatory. To detect the presence of foreign bodies, they have a statistical approach: they open a bag over say 100 bags and inspect it.
Wanted: systematic detection of foreign bodies inside packaging, that is fast enough to treat all instances of the product.
